|
|
Hello,
On my Allison data plate, there is a box labeled AIR CORPS OR BUREAU NO., within is stamped: AC 41-33305. I was wondering if this is referencing a specific aircraft serial number, or is it a contract number. My engine is a -27, which indicates it was out of a P-38, with an acceptance date of 10/29/41. Thanks!
Regards,
Steve |

Dan Whitney has responded to your question with a short article about interpreting Allison serial numbers. Please see

Thank you Dan and all involved in helping with my data plate question. A wonderfully detailed response, and a little back story on my engine too. |
