Around this date, the spanish INTA (Instituto Nacional de Tecnica Aeroespacial -National Institute for Aerospatial Technics) started the development of an oblique compressor turbojet, whose development never reached its end. The spanish patent of the turbojet can be consulted, claims and drawings at www.oepm.es , INVENES data base, interpat, or thru ESPACENET, patent number 0197663; in patents 0156621 and 0433850, two peculiar examples of double expansion, 5-stroke engines appear, it seems that some practical work was conducted, showing a low SFC. Patents 0546679 and 0272123 represent a couple of peculiar cylinder arrangements, patent 0416371 stands for an original 1973 rotary engine, not far away from the Canadian quasiturbine, whose last development can be seen in Youtube, searching for ICAI, spanish rotary engine or loaded by grosaymerich . Thru ESPACENET, search word for inventor Ortuno, you can access spanish patents 0317141, 0230551, and 0249247, about his aircraft engine that uses a double expansion cycle, this engine is also described in the book by Ricard Miguel Vidal "El motor de aviacion de la A a la Z", accessible in the AEHS website. Enjoy it, have some fun. Regards |
