I've thought about this for some time and would like to make a start. I'd like to write an article for submission to AEHS on USAF jet engine mechanic training through the years. I graduated from the jet engine tech school at Chanute AFB Oct '80 and completed a number of field training detachment courses during my 25 years in the AF and remember most of it for the moment.

My initial thoughts are to interview jet engine mechanics from each decade to compare and contrast to the current method of training in the USAF. If you're a former USAF jet engine mechanic and would like to share your recollections, please contact me at airplanes2006@bellsouth.net

I'm especially interested to hear from jet engine mechanics in the early years of jet engine ops in the AF.
