What were the cylinder dimensions of this engine, what was the boost for 2500 hp/3400 rpm and how much did weight? Except being a "wetliner", the cylinder construction (as per the drawing here) reminds me of the DB designs, i.e. liner screwed in the head and the liner pulled to the crankcase by large sized nuts over the liner.

Thanks, excellent! The most interesting piece of data concerns the SFC at full power, 0.54 lbs/hp/h. This is something that the R-2800 could only dream of at 2500 hp (the XI-2220 has some 30% lower sfc at TO power than the R-2800 B or C!). If we e.g. consider the USN combat radius definition, the Chrysler engine would have offered quite a considerable improvement in radius of action over the R-2800 in e.g. the F4U and the F6F.
