Hello AEHS Members,
Does anyone have or know where I can find drawings of the Liberty L-12 Engine Upper and Lower Crankcase castings?
The original Liberty drawing p/n's were;
12035 Crankcase-Upper Half (12-cylinder engine)
12036 Crankcase-Lower Half (12-cylinder engine)
Drawings of any of the other models L-4, L-6, L-8 or V-8 would also be helpful. Also looking for drawings of the Delco Distributor components.
I have looked in AEHS, NARA, NASM, Henry Ford and GM Heritage without luck.
Any pointers to a source very much appreciated.

Have you by chance looked through the AEHS document collection? There are a lot of documents that aren't available online. It looks like there are some engineering documents and drawings available. Mr. McKutcheon might be able to help you a bit more than I.

jriend: In addition to our AEHS resources, another good Liberty reference is a September 1918 RAF booklet found at Avialogs which contains some good engineering drawings of good resolution.

Your Zenith 52 looks good! I am almost finished with a CAD Liberty from these drawings. |
