Last year before the engine was running I attended the Houlton Maine Wings and Wheels show, yesterday I was back there to the delight of many who said they had been waiting a year to see it run. The weather put a damper on the aerial portion of the day and the attendance suffered a bit but I made 3 good runs to an appreciative audience. Flooded it pretty good on the last start as was evident by the dark smoke from the exhaust but a bit of throttle and mixture off it soon cleared. The runs were about 4 minutes each and it took 6.3 gallons of avgas, about 1/2 gallon per minute. This is just about what I thought it was using.
Another great day at Houlton, hope to do it again.

Last fall before storing the engine for the winter I tried one last start and discovered I had a fuel pump with a ruptured diaphragm. Over the winter I found another pump and am good to go once again. Made the first run of 2016 yesterday and all went well but I need to be a bit more careful where I set up, the prop even though it's arc is inside the trailer frame was picking up small sand/stones from in front of the trailer so I had to limit the RPM 1800 - 2000 for the run. Yuotube video here if interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM6zntZIQI0&feature=youtu.be

It's been a while since my last note on the 2600, another summer season has gone by and the engine is still running great and always leaves an impression on those who watch the run. I have it pretty much figured out for starting and although it's been a bit stubborn a time or two it's always cooperated. Have quite a few miles on the trailer now and have had no issues there either, now have a custom tarp for trailering in bad weather. The video attached is a run at a flyin in September.
