Did any DOHC aircraft engine see service during WW Two? I can think of only one example: Russian Mikulin series, at least AM-42 is a DOHC one. Wasn´t the Ford V-12 supposed to be a 4-valve DOHC design? At least the V-8 tank version seems to be that. By the way, the most produced wartime DOHC engine must be Russian V-2 tank diesel.

I don't think there are many others. I've seen a cross-section diagram for the DB 609 (a V 16 with cylinders similar in size to those of the DB 603) that shows a double camshaft layout. However, as far as I know, all of the DB 12 cyclinder engines had a single overhead camshaft. Another one was the Napier Lion. This was obsolete for aircraft use by WWII, but was still in use for marine applications.
