Has there been a volume 13 in the RR Heritage Trust Historical series? I´ve never come across one. |

I think the only "explanation" I have read is that given in the foreword of Book # 14:
"Should anyone wonder why there is no Number 13 in the Historical Series it is because we are following the Company tradition by which 13 was never used in motor cars or aero engine numbering."
It is hard to believe that Rolls-Royce sucumbed to an attack of Mumbo-Jumbo, I can only say they are not alone, at times the whole world seems full of senseless notions..... |

I never liked the idea of not having a Number 13 in the Historical Series of RRHT books. The fact is that the aero-engines did have number 13s (Merlin for example). Cannot speak for motor car chassis numbers.
