Looks like engine failures for Dreadnaught and Argonaught so far.
I think its a Wasp Major in Dreadnaught, don't know about the other.
Anyone else know more? |

Dreadnought - 4360 Sea Fury- Metal was found after an engine run so the Sanders brother's called it a week. The thought is the main bearing and it was caught before significant damage.
Argonaut - 3350 Sea Fury - Blew engine while racing. Smoke and some flames. I think CJ Stephens was flying it and got it safely back on the ground, covered with oil. I do not know the extent of the damage. This one is also owned by the Sanders.
Voodoo - Merlin Mustang - Burned a piston on a practice run with Will Whiteside at the controls. Owner Bob Button switched to the ferry motor and did run on Sunday without incident, piloted again by Whiteside. They did have some drama on the ferry motor with low oil pressure but everything seemed to be in order by Sunday.
Rare Bear - 3350 Bearcat - Blew motor during Sunday Final. Smoke and oil but John Penny got it back on the ground safe and sound (again). Rumor is a jug or three came apart. I believe this is the same 3350 they had last year and it was raced in Critical Mass (Sea Fury) before Rare Bear.
I think that is all.
Gold results (in MPH):
1) Strega - P-51 Merlin @ 483.1
2) Dago Red - P-51 Merlin @ 474.3
3) Sept Fury - Sea Fury 3350 @ 473.8
4) Czech Mate - Yak11 2800 @ 424.5
5) Spirit of Texas - Sea Fury 3350 @ 418.7
6) Fury - Sea Fury 3350 @ 414.8
7) Sawbones - Sea Fury 3350 @ 407.9
8 ) Bearcat - Bearcat 2800 @ 402.6
9) Rare Bear - Bearcat 3350 - DNF _________________ Bill Pearce
