Tom Fey and the Righter 2-GS-17

AEHS Members get one another into trouble. Tom Fey has always had a soft spot for contra-rotating propellers. He has collected a huge amount of text, pictures and video on the subject, and has presented a few talks about contra-props at AEHS Conventions. Engine collector and restorer Robert Kammlott knows of Tom's weakness. When Robert learned that the New England Air Museum (NEAM) was going to sell one of its Righter 2-GS-17 contra-rotating engine from aRadioplane OQ-2 target drone, he just HAD to tell Tom. Thus began the story of Tom and the Righter, which will be presented here as a work diary. |

| This is the single original "for sale" picture from the NEAM online ad notice. I placed a bid 7 minutes after I saw this picture. The add said "fair condition"; looked better than that to me. I bid 18% over the asking price because I wanted it bad. |
