Thanks to Paul Palmgren: The AEHS Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to recognize Paul Palmgren for his 13 years of service to the AEHS as a Director. In addition, Paul organized the first AEHS Convention (2004) in Rantoul, Illinois. He opened his home and hangar to the fledgling membership, has written a Torque Meter article series the Wright J-5, and helped set the course for the success of AEHS Conventions and the Society as a whole. We thank you, Paul.

We welcome Bill Pearce to the Board: AEHS member, 2014 Convention presenter, author, and generator of varied articles of mechanical interest at oldmachinepress.com, Bill Pearce, has accepted an invitation to join the Board of the AEHS. We thank him stepping up, stepping forward.

Doug Duhon, proudly from Lafayette, Louisiana, has died. Doug was an engineer who worked for Convair on B-58s, among other things, and had a great passion for everything Reno air racing. Doug attended the first several AEHS Conventions and was pleasure to spend time with. – Tom Fey

2021 AEHS Officers and Board Members: President Kim McCutcheon, Vice President Dan Whitney, Secretary Tom Fey, Treasurer Tony Ward, and Board Members Gary Van Farowe, Alex Pong, and Bill Pearce.

Status of the AEHS: The organization closed 2020 with stable income and monetary assets, with an increase of 38 members to 1,113 total members. One hundred twenty six articles were added to the AEHS Document Collection in 2020. The Board recognizes and appreciates the efforts of the many contributors. Volunteer docent Kim McCutcheon continues to distribute the AEHS-sponsored Apollo 50th anniversary mission stickers at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, as an outreach program.

The Dearborn 2021 remains on course: Our new-build AEHS Convention remains scheduled for October 5 and 6, 2021. The meeting will be to be centered at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. A block of rooms has been set aside for the AEHS, we have a meeting room for both of those evenings, the Ford Museum/Greenfield Village/Automotive Hall of Fame/Yankee Air Museum/Other are on the visitation list, and a couple of members have mentioned they have topics they may want to present. It remains too early to set a hard schedule for activities, but we'll figure that out as the time grows closer. Information on the Dearborn 2021 will be provided and discussed on the AEHS Message Board under Mini-Gigs and updates in every Newsletter.

Spread the word: Members who take advantage of the various electronic media sites are encouraged to reference and cite the AEHS at www.enginehistroy.org whenever possible and appropriate. This is the modern vehicle for membership growth and accessing future generations of AEHS members and contributors, all for $1 a month, so it is important we drive the wheels off it.
