Société Anonyme des Établissements Emile Régnier of Versailles, France was formed in 1920. The earliest Régnier engine products were UK De Havilland Gipsy engines built under license. Later they developed and built inverted inline engines of their own design, some of which were successful in European air racing. One of these engines was licensed to the US Allied Aviation Corporation of Van Nuys, California. It received a U.S. Type Certificate in 1939 as the Allied Monsoon. The only Régnier HOAE designs are described here. Régnier continued producing their inverted inline engines after WWII.
