Miesse (Belgium)

Miesse engines were built in Belgium. An eight-cylinder water-cooled radial engine was built (Ae39) as well as the two horizontally-opposed engines listed below (J1912). These HOAE had several unusual features. They were air cooled with fans circulating air through air jackets on the cylinders. Moreover, the crankshaft was reported to have been mounted vertically. Vertical crankshafts with 90-degree beveled gearing to the horizontal propeller shaft were used in other French engines, namely the Potez On-End engine (Ae39) and the Salmson Type B Horizontal-Radial engine (Ae39).

4cyl; Miesse; 50-60hp@N/A rpm; 1910-1913; Wt = N/A.
Single-ignition engine, air-cooled with a vertical crankshaft as described above.
J1912.
Applications: None found.
