Charles B. Kirkham was a well-recognized early aircraft engine developer and became the Chief Motor Engineer of the Curtiss Airplane and Motor Corp. After he left Curtiss, he was reported in 1929-1930 to be experimenting with the following HOAE, but little detail is available.
